Englandfahrt 2025 – Bericht

Day 1

On the first day the 7a and the 7b class met on the parking place in front of the Netto supermarket at 6:30 a.m. The bus was already waiting for us. At 7:00 a.m. we started our journey. On our way we had 4 stops which were all very funny. After 10 hours of driving we arrived at the ferry harbour. On the ferry everyone went to their cabins. Later on some of the kids played “Werewolf”. At 8:00 p.m. everyone went into their rooms and to bed.

Day 2

The next morning everyone woke up at 6 a.m. and we all went to the bus. We drove another 4 hours. At 10 a.m. we arrived in Hastings. Then the teachers gave us a quiz about Hastings and the students walked through the city to figure out the answers of the quiz.
After 2 hours of walking through the beautiful little city of Hastings we went back to the bus and the host families picked us up. The rest of the evening everybody spent some time with their host families.

Day 3

On the Tuesday of our 8-day school trip, we went to our allocated "pick-up points" in Hastings like every morning and were picked up there by our bus. We then drove to the language school. There, the first group had free time while the other group was taught. After 90 minutes the groups swapped. At about 12:15 we took the bus to a cathedral called "Canterbury Cathedral". In order to be quiet in the cathedral we were divided into 4 groups of one teacher each. In the groups we then visited the cathedral and the teachers also told us about the history of the cathedral. After the tour, most of the students did a quiz about the city of Canterbury. During the quiz we were also able to look at the historic buildings of the city. In the late afternoon, we took the bus back to Hastings to our respective pick-up points and ended the evening there with our host families.

Day 4

2nd April 2025
We started this day with one lesson of language school. Then we took the bus to Rye. In Rye we saw so many things like the Church of Saint Mary, the Rye Castle (you see that in the picture). We walked through the whole town and shopped in some shops, for example for post cards, drinks or in one supermarket we found Slush ice. After the trip to Rye, we went to the Rye Beach. At the beach it was really windy. We played a bit of football there and a few of us went into the water. The others tried to play the game ”Werewolf”, but because it was so windy, it was really hard to play.

Day 5

On the 3rd of April 2025 we were in London. We got there by our coach and there we took the tube to get to the National History Museum. When we arrived at the museum, we had time to go around and look at the exhibitions. Both classes built smaller groups and took notes for a Biology Project. After that, we went to the city centre and had a sight seeing tour. We saw the Elisabeth Tower, the London Eye, the Shard and so on. Later, we built smaller groups again and had one hour free time in London. The different groups ate something or went shopping.
At the end of the day, we took the tube and went back to our bus. We did not eat in our host family because it was too late. We would recommend our day in London because we learned something new and everybody had fun.

Day 6

Dear Diary,
On April 4th, 2025, we first went to language school in Hastings. We were again in two groups. One group had free time in Hastings while the other had class. Then we switched. After the language school, we had more free time. Nearby was a shopping center where most of us stayed. At around 12 o'clock, we met in front of the shopping center and walked together to the Hastings Hills. At the top, we had a picnic and played games. Some played football, others played tag. After about 1.5 hours, we walked to a tea party with Lady Rebecca. She gave us a list of teas and we could choose one. Then we got a tray with scones and tea. Lady Rebecca showed us how to drink tea properly. At the end, we listened to music and could dress up in old costumes. After the trip, we went back to our host families and had dinner.

Day 7

Day 7 started like every other day. The bus picked us up at 8 am at the pick-up points like every morning. After the last group of kids was picked up we made our way to Brighton. The drive was about 2 hours long. Our first stop was at Beachy Head. We hiked along the cliff, where we could enjoy  the  beautiful view of the horizon and the sea. After some walking we arrived at the seven sisters, where we had a little free time, we could spend on the beach. The bus picked us up and the journey continued towards Brighton. In Brighton, we got some free time, we could spend in groups of three or more. We had about 2 hours. Everyone spent their time differently. We did it by eating, shopping and sight-seeing. After those 2 hours, we met at the agreed place and drove back to Hastings, where we spend our evening together with our host families.

Day 8

In my opinion, the day of departure already started the evening before, because we bought snacks for the ride back and started packing our things. The next morning our host mom gave us our last lunch package and drove us to the coach.
The rest of the day consisted of a very long bus ride and the regular stops. At our longest stop we were supposed to eat dinner at the filling station. There was a Mc Donald’s but the queue was so long that the most kids ended up not eating anything or not being able to finish their food.
Then we arrived in Berlin at roundabout 2 am and our parents picked us up and took us home.
